Name that movie!

"Sometimes I sing and dance around the house in my underwear. Doesn't make me Madonna. Never will."

Trivia Tuesday on a Thursday! Has the world gone mad! I figure I need to catch up for my lack of posts so here is a bonus!

This is definitely a movie I love to watch on a Sunday when I am cleaning, doing homework, or folding laundry. And once I hear it's featured song I am singing it ALL day!

Here's the quote!

Rusted Root - Send me on my way

There are a couple of reasons why I adore Rusted Root, although I really don't know any other songs besides this one. Young girls might recognize it as the song from the movie Matilda.

One is a more sentimental one. My dad once told me my maternal grandpa, Grampy, liked this song. This came as a surprise because my grandfather is not the Rusted Root kind of guy. After he passed away my freshman year of college it was nice to listen to it, close my eyes, and think of him.

The other reason is because I saw "Rusted Root man" aka Michael Glabicki, lead singer, in concert my freshman year of college, or was it sophomore? The whole thing is a blur. Either way, our group of friends made it in to the Blue Gator, underage, something I am sure Jessie had a hand in, and listened to him play. You'll remember I don't recall any of their songs beside this one. So, after a few very freshman drink orders of cranberry and vodka, much "noodle dancing" and obnoxious requests for this song ensued.

As soon as it came on you better believe we were ecstatic! (Cue group girl call, "Wooooo!!!" here). On the walk home of course we called friends high off of the excitement of seeing a concert... in Athens... in a bar... underage! My favorite recollection though is CT calling her parents at somewhere around 2am to tell her parents she was going to "Marry Rusted Root Man and have his babies." Sorry, Lauren. I think Chris is an amazing consolation prize! This is when I fell in love with the girls on the 4th floor of Jeff Hall and some of my best friends from college. I miss those days!

Anyone else like this song?

CoCo is back!

I was most definitely Team Coco when the whole "Battle for Late Night" happened in the spring and  certainly missed Conan! Tim and I don't have cable so we weren't able to catch the premiere episode last night, and I hate to admit that we are old and are in bed by 11, but I did find this video online and it made me so happy! I LOVE the homage to the Godfather in there! When we are home over the holidays we will definitely be getting our Coco fix!

Name that movie!

Here's the quote. This one should be pretty easy. A clue is that it is the 25th anniversary of this film. Tim LOVES this movie and saw it in theaters.

"Don't you realize? The next time you see sky, it'll be over another town. The next time you take a test, it'll be in some other school. Our parents, they want the best of stuff for us. But right now, they got to do what's right for them. Because it's their time. Their time! Up there! Down here, it's our time. It's our time down here. That's all over the second we ride up Troy's bucket."

Name that movie!

Sorry!

I know I have been MIA lately on the blogging but I promise I will make up for it. We have been super busy with guests and events for the past 2 weekends and incredibly busy with graduate school. It's only going to get worse as the holidays approach but I have some down time to blog. I promise I won't leave you hanging!

How adorable is my sister?!

Lindsey works nights, as in 8:30pm - 5am, at an emergency room in Indy. Sometimes the ER isn't too busy and so during a lag times she was helping a mom at work create an invitation to her son's birthday party. The woman is having a "Cars" themed party but doesn't have the money to buy the Disney invites. So, Lindsey created an invite for her to look like a NASCAR pass. Adorable. It looks so great!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from Amelia Earhart and The Count.

We had many guests this weekend and a jam packed schedule. Everyone (Matt, Abby, Erica, and Erica's friend Kelley) got in on Friday. I had an event to chaperone in Santa Monica for Delta Gamma so we all met there when I was done.

Saturday we did the Venice Beach tour and after lunch and a search for hair extensions we got into our costumes. Matt and Abby were Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf and Erica and Kelley we miss North and South Dakota 1984. We ventured down to Hermosa Beach and hopped around. We had a blast. Mechanical bull riding may have been involved. Spending Halloween in 70 degree weather versus 40 degree in Ohio isn't bad either!

Not sure Matt was the Big Bad Wolf or Larry's Dad
All the girls!

Halloween in Hermosa Beach is beautiful!
